The hostile system is designed to prevent people from entering the safe zone after recently engaging in combat. The following are some common questions about what the hostile system means and how it functions.
1. How do I become hostile?
If you engage in combat by shooting another player, you will become hostile and no longer be protected by entering a safe zone. In other words, hostile players can be killed by other players in the safe zones. Players who are not hostile that shoot another player that is not hostile will become hostile for 7 minutes. Players who are not hostile that are shot by another player AND return fire shooting the player that shot them first will become hostile for 2 minutes.
2. What happens when I become hostile?
When you become hostile, you are no longer protected in the safe zones from being shot by other players. A hostile player that enters a safe zone may be killed by other players that are also hostile, and by players who are not hostile and are protected by the safe zone.
3. What happens to players fighting near the safe zone?
There are a few scenarios that can occur with this situation and this is the most common question that is brought up for discussion so we'll break it down situation by situation.
a. Player A is in the safe zone and is not hostile. Player A shoots Player B who is outside the safe zone and is not protected by the safe zone protection.
-- Player B who is outside the safe zone will ONLY take damage if they are hostile. If Player B is being shot by Player A, who is not hostile and within the safe zone, Player B will NOT take damage.
b. Player A is hostile and enters the safe zone. Player B is in the safe zone and shoots Player A who is hostile.
-- Player A will always take damage regardless of if Player B is hostile or not. Hostile players CAN damage other hostile players within the safe zone, however they CAN NOT damage players that are not hostile.
c. Player A is not hostile and in the safe zone boundary. Player B enters the safe zone boundary and is not hostile.
-- Neither player will take damage when shooting each other.
